Surf Shark Bikes are not limited to those looking for a new workout routine, these bikes are built for adventure seekers. This extremely versatile product is ridden by boaters, paddlers, cyclists, and all thrill-seekers. Shark Bikes was founded by German supercar engineer, Josep Ribau. Mr. Ribau has introduced a revolutionary new design that allows riders to take the nostalgic feeling of riding a bike but putting them somewhere with a much better view. Mr. Ribau is an avid cyclist who is attracted to the water and put the two together in an innovative way. Shark Bikes has introduced a bike frame that sits on top of an inflatable SUP board and is propelled by the rider simply pedaling. The handlebars are connected to the Stable-rudder system that provides steering as well as stability. The look and feel of a Shark Bike is identical to any high end road or mountain bike. If it weren’t for the views, riders would feel that they are riding their bikes through their own neighborhoods. From weight shift to balance to riding, Shark Bikes feel just like road bikes.
The bikes are built on a fiber-reinforced SUP board chat is 3ft wide by 11ft long, this alone makes the surf bikes stable. Add to that the adjustable Stable-Rudder system that provides steering and acts like a keel and the bikes are practically impossible to flip over.

The bikes come with a 1:10 gear case (one revolution of pedaling turns the propeller I0 times) and four different propellers to give users varying degrees of resistance and speed to optimize the ride. The bikes go in forward and reverse depending on the direction the rider is pedaling, which allows riders to maneuver in tight spaces which is perfect for docking. Hi everyone, my name is Elvira and SD Surf Bikes is my dream business come true! I’m a proud San Diegan of 15 years and the mother of a beautiful 9-year-old boy. Back in 2020, I was working 3 jobs when the pandemic and lockdowns began, and I ultimately found myself in need of new employment. With my newfound free time, I decided to realize my dream of starting a business. I love fun and adventure and wanted to provide San Diegans with a safe social distancing outdoor activity in the age of COVID. I also knew I wanted to take advantage of San Diego’s beautiful coasts and bays. With that in mind, I found Red Shark Bikes in Spain, a company founded by German supercar engineer Josep Ribau. I instantly fell in love with their sleek and unique surf bikes. I am proud to finally launch my business and provide San Diego with another adventure for the bucket list!
